Privacy Policy for TW Counselling

This privacy notice details how TW Counselling uses and processes your data including any information that you might provide by registering on the website www.twcounselling.co.uk or via email at twcounselling@gmail.com.

I do update this Policy from time to time so please do review this Policy regularly.

In running and maintaining my website I may collect and process the following data about you:

i.      Information about your use of our site including details of your visits such as pages viewed and the resources that you access. Such information includes traffic data, location data and other communication data.

ii.     Information provided voluntarily by you. For example, when you register for information.

iii.    Information that you provide when you communicate with me by any means.

Use of Cookies


This site uses Google Analytics to help analyse how visitors use the site. Cookies are small text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. No personally identifiable information is collected about you unless you explicitly submit that information via a fill in form on this website.

I may gather information about your general internet use by using the cookie.  Where used, these cookies are downloaded to your computer and stored on the computer’s hard drive. Such information will not identify you personally. It is statistical data. This statistical data does not identify any personal details whatsoever.

You can adjust the settings on your computer to decline any cookies if you wish.  This can easily be done by activating the reject cookies setting on your computer.

Use of Your Information

I use the information that I collect from you to provide my services to you.

i.      To provide information to you that you request from us relating to our products or services. 

 

 

  • Angela McMillan is the registered data controller for TW Counselling. If you are not happy with how any data is collected you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) www.ico.org.uk. I would ask that you contact me first if you wish to discuss a complaint.

 

Information that I may collect if you book my services:

Identity: This may include your full name, date of birth, gender, sexuality and marital status.

​

Contact: This may include your address, email address and telephone number.

​

Financial: This may include your bank account and card details.

​

If you wish to pay via bank transfer please be aware that I use an accountancy firm to process my accounts and that by paying by bank transfer or card payment through Stripe or PayPal your name will show on my bank statements and invoice records.

Transaction: This may include details of payments made. Payment records are kept for seven years in line with requirements from HMRC.

​

Marketing: We do not use your details for marketing purposes.

Sensitive Data: We store sensitive data in the following way:

​

  • TW Counselling uses an encrypted, secure, online booking system and counselling platform called bac-pac and all of your bookings will be registered here unless you choose to opt out of this.

​

  • Brief factual records are held on this system which provide records for our sessions. This information will not be disclosed to anyone unless there is a request by a court of law or if I have a duty of care to report in line with my confidentiality policy.

​

  • Mayden the company behind BacPac is ISO 27001:2013 accredited. This internationally recognised information security management standard ensures that a business has stringent processes in place to ensure data confidentiality and to identify, manage and reduce risks to information security.

 

 

  • Any data breaches will be immediately reported to the ISO.

 

  • All personal data is held securely on the bac-pac system and your data will be stored for seven years from the date of our therapy coming to an end. This is to ensure that if there are problems that arise after our therapy has finished we have a factual record of our therapeutic work to refer back to.

 

  • You have the right to access your personal data at any time and a copy of your session records can be provided within one month from your written request. The data will be provided as an exported Excel document and will be printed.

  • You have the right to request that your data is deleted.
